SDO-DavSur: Adherence to Strict Preventive Measures against COVID-19

In response to the outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) causing a state of public health emergency in the Philippines, the Department of Education- Division of Davao del Sur acted on the prevention of further transmission and reducing the impacts of corona virus through preventive measures and controls within schools and the division office for the protection of all division office personnel, teachers and students.

At the Division Office alone, an alternative work arrangement of shifting schedules was adopted to reduce the number of employees present per day. The employees on duty, upon entering the entrance gate, are required to wash their hands with soap and water at a sink installed in front of the guard house. Alcohol and sanitizers are also available at the entrance. A memorandum was also issued to sanitize the hallways, corridors, stairways, doors and everything frequently touched by human hands before and after working hours.

Employees only used manual attendance on a logbook using their own pens. Everyone is also encouraged to wear face masks especially when communicating with co-employees. No outsiders are allowed to enter the office. A waiting area outside the office was set up for outsiders who have concerns and front liners were assigned to transact with them.

Social distancing measures are strictly observed.

Meanwhile, classes are suspended due to the order of the local government units; hence, teachers are to stay at home.

From April 6, 2020, in line with the regional memorandum issued and the declaration of Enhanced Community Quarantine in the region, a work from home arrangement will be implemented by the division. Employees then are considered on-call from Monday to Friday until the revocation of the said memorandum. Only those who have important concerns especially whose work are related to financial matters are to enter the division.

However, all personnel are required to maintain their availability by keeping their communication lines open and must submit their accomplishment reports. Attendance will also be monitored using the Clockify Application installed in their mobile phones.
