Over 6,000 DepEd personnel participated in the Webinar on the development of Learning Resource Materials and Its Standards held today at 9:00 AM, via facebook live watchparty, at DepeD Davao del Sur Classroom facebook page. The participants included Education Program Supervisors, District Heads, School Heads, Teachers, ALS Mobile Teachers and ALS IMs.
The online activity was conducted by the division through the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) and Learning Resource Management Section (LRMS) of the CID, with the aim, as stated by Cheerlyn Cometa, CID Chief, in her rationale, “to address the academic gaps, redundancies, and sub-competencies for the purpose of improving the overall coherence and effectiveness of the curriculum.”
Schools Division Superintendent Nelson Lopez, in his opening message said, “Expectedly, your task teachers will be more challenging than before, considering that in this new normal setting, we in DepEd need to embark appropriate strategies and approaches to be able to realize our desire to make education continue amidst this health crisis. Since we shall be facing an extraordinary challenging school year, everyone needs to undertake the necessary preparations for us to effectively deliver the essential learning competencies and skills to our learners.”
Christopher Felipe, LRMS Manager, thoroughly discussed about Learning Resources (LR) and its nature, kinds of LRs, elements and templates of every LR, the standards of LR and evaluation tools. He also provided the necessary links related to his discussion.
To close was Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Marilyn Deduyo leaving a message, to quote, “To everyone, thank you for accepting this challenge. I know we can do this with God’s grace and we will be able to survive and face the whole new world with confidence, integrity and most of all with the different competencies that we have. Maraming maraming salamat po. Hope to see you soon in the different webinars to come.”
Positive feedbacks were received right after it was done such as it being a good start signifying that the division’s Education Program Supervisors and other division heads could conduct webinars in different subject areas using this platform. The Webinar on LRs was the first division webinar conducted and it was held to be a successful one.
